Trump Reacts to Trudeau’s Resignation, Says Canada Should ‘Merge’ With US

Incoming U.S. President Donald Trump has once again called for Canada to become the 51st state following Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s announcement that he will resign. “The United States can no longer suffer the massive trade deficits and subsidies that Canada needs to stay afloat. Justin Trudeau knew this, and resigned,” Trump said on Truth Social on Jan. 6. Trump also said that many Canadians “love being the 51st state,” and that merging with the United States would mean Canada would have no tariffs, its taxes would “go way down,” and it would be militarily secure from the “threat of the Russian and Chinese ships that are constantly surrounding them.”…
