Texas Governor Announces Ad Campaign in Mexico and Central America Aimed at Deterring Illegal Immigration

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, in an attempt to deter last-minute illegal immigration into the state, has announced an advertising campaign warning migrants attempting the dangerous journey to the southern border that they face arrest and deportation.
Abbott held a press conference on Dec. 19 on a private ranch near Eagle Pass, where women had been sexually assaulted by gangs, human traffickers, and coyotes to highlight the dangers to migrants.
“We’re here to expose the truth—the truth to immigrants who are thinking about coming here, the truth about the traffickers who assault so many of the women and children along the way,” he said….
