Russia-Based Media Outlet Accused of Running Covert Weapons Ops

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced on Friday the Biden administration will be taking action against Russian government-sponsored media outlet RT, accusing it of helping to procure weapons, including body armor, sniper rifles, and drones for Russian military units.
Blinken said the State Department’s investigation revealed that RT led an online crowdfunding operation that was used for “support and military equipment, supplies and weaponry” for Russian military units in Ukraine.
The State Department has imposed sanctions on RT and other Russian-controlled entities for taking part in what he says are “covert influence operations around the world.”
