The Seattle Seahawks signed veteran defensive tackle Leonard Williams to a three-year, $90 million contract extension Thursday, securing a central piece of their defensive front into the future. The deal includes $56 million in guaranteed money, according to league sources.
The extension averages $30 million per season, tying Williams for the fifth-highest annual average value among interior defensive linemen in the NFL. Williams, 32, had been entering the final year of his previous contract before reaching the new agreement with franchise leadership.
Seattle initially acquired the former No. 6 overall draft pick from the New York Giants midway through the 2023 season in exchange for second- and fifth-round draft choices. Since arriving in the Pacific Northwest, the 11-year veteran has experienced a career resurgence, earning consecutive Pro Bowl selections over the past two campaigns.
During the 2025 season, Williams recorded seven sacks, 62 combined tackles, and 22 quarterback hits in the regular season while earning second-team All-Pro honors. He subsequently registered a sack and three quarterback hits across three postseason contests to help anchor a defense that capped the year by winning Super Bowl LX.
Over his 43 career games with Seattle, Williams has accumulated 22.0 sacks, 34 tackles for loss, and 61 quarterback hits. His extension represents the latest major offseason financial commitment by the defending champions to keep their core defensive framework intact.
