
CHICAGO—Law enforcement declared a protest near the Democratic National Convention (DNC) to be unlawful as pro-Palestinian protests grew violent on Tuesday evening.
Around 8:30 p.m. ET, a crowd of protesters pushed through a thin line of reporters to a police line. The crowd was quickly pushed back and the Chicago Police Department established a security perimeter.
At least four protestors were arrested, with dozens involved in the initial clash.
Chants of “Intifada,” an Arabic word for rebellion or uprising, were heard among the crowd.
