A Virginia man was arrested on Aug. 2 after allegedly making multiple violent threats against Vice President Kamala Harris on the social media platform GETTR.
Frank Lucio Carillo, of Winchester, Virginia, was charged with violating 18 U.S.C. § 871, which criminalizes threats to harm or kill the president, vice president, or other officials in the line of succession, according to the criminal complaint and arrest warrant filed in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Virginia on August 2.
The FBI was alerted to the alleged threats on July 27, when the Maricopa County, Arizona, Recorder’s Office reported potential threats to Maricopa County Recorder Stephen Richer made by the GETTR user “joemadarats1.”…
