President Joe Biden tested positive for COVID-19 on July 17 prior to a planned speech at the UnidosUS Annual Conference in Las Vegas.
The speech, which was originally scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Pacific time, was delayed for more than an hour before UnidosUS President and CEO Janet Murguía took the stage to announce that President Biden would no longer be speaking.
“I was just on the phone with President Biden, and he shared his deep disappointment at not being able to join us this afternoon. The president has been at many events, as we all know, and he just tested positive for COVID,” she said….
