Scotty McCreery joined forces with Gusi to release a new version of McCreery’s song, ‘Why She Gotta Be Like That,’ originally written by McCreery, James McNair and Jordan Schmidt. The new version includes Gusi’s additions and translations.
The original song was one of 12 tracks to appear on Scotty’s 2021 album ‘Same Truck,’ which also included his hit songs “Damn Strait,” “It Matters To Her,” and “You Time.” McCreery, who is one-quarter Puerto Rican, said: “I decided ‘Why She Gotta Be Like That’ could use a twist! Had a lot of fun with my friend [Gusi] on this one.” McCreery also shared with CMT: “The song is fun, and that’s what I wanted to bring to the video. Plus, I’ve wanted to bring my Latin heritage into my music, and being able to do this duet with Gusi helped me to reach that goal. …I hope it brings a smile to their faces and that they love the song. And I hope if they are not familiar with Gusi, that they will have discovered a new musical fave.”
